Job Description:
The shipping/receiving clerk will have direct responsibility for correctly and safely operating the shipping office and the clerk equipment. The role involves managing shipping and receiving operations, coordinating carrier appointments, processing paperwork, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and cost standards. Key skills include initiative, flexibility, SAP proficiency, material handling experience, and strong communication and organizational abilities.
· OSM (outbound shipping monitor)
· Management of carrier appointment process and trailer pool
· Process paperwork for outbound reclaim and waste
· Direct drivers, vendors, contractors
· Unload raw material LTL
· Answer phone and give directions
· Preparation/distribution of daily shipping schedules to include movement to/from outside warehouse
· Coordination of inbound receipts to include raw materials, finishing supplies, roll goods
· Initiate/ensure SLOC movements are performed in SAP
· Must be capable of dealing professionally with outside customers and drivers
· Tour warehouses to verify standards are kept and delegate action to resolve non-standard conditions
· Train new material handlers/shippers
