Summary: 

The Special Project Technician performs specialized cleaning and restorative services for commercial and industrial clients, including floor care, carpet cleaning, window cleaning, power washing, and post-construction cleanup. This position also supports the Janitorial Operations Division by assisting with janitorial coverage as needed. This role requires a high degree of attention to detail, safety awareness, and professionalism while representing Stathakis at various customer sites. 


Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Receive work orders and schedules from supervisor and execute project cleaning tasks efficiently. 
  • Operate a company vehicle to transport cleaning equipment and supplies to assigned job sites. 
  • Perform hard surface floor care, including stripping and waxing, top scrubbing and recoating, buffing, and auto-scrubbing. 
  • Conduct carpet cleaning using both portable and truck-mounted extraction systems. 
  • Clean tile and grout using steam or pressure systems. 
  • Perform interior and exterior window cleaning at ground level and with extension poles or lifts as required. 
  • Operate a Kaivac machine to deep clean and sanitize restrooms. 
  • Conduct power washing of building exteriors, sidewalks, and restrooms. 
  • Complete construction cleanups, including removal of debris, detailed dusting, fixture cleaning, and polishing. 
  • Assist with covering janitorial positions when regular staff are unavailable or as assigned. 
  • Perform work orders within the allocated labor budget and communicate any deviations to the Special Projects Manager. 
  • Complete quality control inspections before and after assigned projects to ensure work meets Stathakis and customer standards. 
  • Safely operate all equipment, maintain it in good working condition, and follow all company safety policies and procedures. 
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and clients to ensure satisfaction with service delivery. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Language Skills:  

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. 

 

Mathematical Skills:                    

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. 

 

Reasoning Ability:                    

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.  Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables. 

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: 

  • Valid Michigan Driver’s License (required) 
  • Must be eligible to drive a company vehicle 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Proficient in floor care, carpet extraction, restroom deep cleaning, and power washing 
  • Ability to safely use and maintain commercial cleaning equipment
