We are seeking a reliable, motivated, and detail-oriented Janitorial Staff Member with the ability to communicate and maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of an education center in Fairfax, VA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming academic environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities: ·
-Clean and maintain classrooms, administrative offices, hallways, stairwells, restrooms, common areas, cafeteria, sidewalks, and parking lots.
-Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, disinfecting surfaces, and emptying trash.
-Sanitize high-touch areas including desks, door handles, railings, light switches, and shared equipment to maintain a healthy learning environment.
-Restock restroom supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper as needed.
-Empty trash and recycling bins and ensure proper waste disposal according to campus guidelines.
-Monitor cleaning supplies and notify the supervisor when restocking is needed.
-Identify and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damages to the Facilities Manager in a timely manner.
-Follow all safety protocols and properly use cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with school and local regulations.
-Assist with setup and cleanup for school events and activities as needed.
Requirements:
· Previous experience in a janitorial or cleaning role, with at least 1 year of experience in leadership or supervisory capacity.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.
· Physical ability to lift and move heavy items such as trash bags, equipment and supplies
· Strong communication and organizational skills to manage the team and ensure high-quality work.
· Reliable transportation to and from work.
· Must be punctual, dependable, and able to maintain a positive, motivated team atmosphere. · Available to work Monday through Friday, from 9:30 am – 5:30 pm
· Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
