  • Position Title: Branch Manager
  • Total Compensation:    $75,000
  • General Location:                    Columbia, SC
  • Headcount Responsibility:      Approximately 50-100 employees

Success Profile

SEJ is looking for an individual who thrives in a high-energy, fast-paced environment. The right candidate brings a strong sense of ownership and accountability, experience managing hourly labor in a service-based industry, and the ability to solve problems quickly and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operations: Oversee janitorial operations across assigned branch accounts through Operations Managers, Account Managers, and Area Managers, while directly managing select accounts when business needs require. Ensure all services meet quality, safety, and performance expectations.
  • Leadership: Lead, develop, and hold branch leadership accountable for staffing, retention, training, and service execution. Directly supervise account-level teams when needed.
  • Customer Service: Maintain relationships with key clients, participate in walkthroughs and meetings, conduct quarterly business reviews, and resolve escalated issues quickly and professionally.
  • Financial: Own branch financial performance by managing labor, supply costs, budgets, profitability, and corrective action plans across all assigned accounts.
  • Growth: Drive additional service opportunities (tag work), support new account sales and startups, and implement process improvements to strengthen branch performance.

Qualifications

  • Background & Work Authorization: Must be able to successfully complete a background check, motor vehicle record (MVR) check, and meet all hiring requirements
  • Experience: Prior experience managing hourly labor in a service environment preferred; janitorial or facility services experience a plus
  • Leadership: Positive attitude with the ability to accept feedback, lead teams, and hold employees accountable
  • Flexibility: Must be willing to work a full-time flexible schedule across shifts as business needs require
  • Hands-On Support: Willing and able to step into any role and perform operational tasks when needed, including trash removal, vacuuming and carpet cleaning, sweeping and mopping hard surface floors, cleaning restrooms, sanitizing high-touch surfaces, spot cleaning glass, dusting, restocking supplies, and stripping and waxing VCT. 
  • Safety: Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and enforcing company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
  • Communication & Technology: Strong communication skills and proficiency with basic computer and mobile systems
  • Organization: Able to manage multiple priorities with a strong sense of urgency and customer service focus
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical duties associated with janitorial operations, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and remaining active throughout the shift.
