Position Overview:

The Area Supervisor leads and directs janitorial operations across assigned locations, ensuring compliance with company standards and contractual requirements. This role provides direct staff supervision, oversees scheduling and performance management, and is accountable for service quality and operational results. Serving as the primary escalation point for client concerns, the Area Supervisor partners with the Area Manager to drive team development, client satisfaction, and continuous improvement across multiple sites.

Essential Functions:

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide overall leadership and direction for janitorial operations across assigned locations, ensuring compliance with company standards, contractual requirements, and performance expectations.
  • Directly supervise staff, oversee scheduling and labor allocation, manage performance evaluations and corrective actions, and ensure workforce accountability.
  • Lead ongoing training and workforce development initiatives by mentoring team members, reinforcing safety compliance, advancing technical skills, and driving continuous performance improvement.
  • Drive operational excellence through structured quality assurance programs, performance monitoring, trend analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive measures.
  • Oversee supply procurement, equipment management, and cost control to maintain operational efficiency and service continuity.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for client concerns and partner with Regional Account Manager to implement strategic service improvements and strengthen long-term client relationships.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, kneeling, reaching, and lifting.
  • Must be able to work in varying warehouse environments and temperatures, including exposure to noise, heat, cold, and indoor/outdoor conditions.
  • Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds frequently.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within the janitorial or facilities management industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and good driving record required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and staff.
  • Experience managing cleaning supplies, equipment, and inventory.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and proper cleaning techniques.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or coursework in management is a plus.
  • Ability to read and write, bilingual in English and Spanish required.
