Further this role will encompass the following responsibilities:

The Night Lead is responsible for performing cleaning and facility maintenance duties while supporting and coordinating the nightly cleaning team. Responsibilities include routine and deep cleaning of restrooms, common areas, floors, glass, and high-touch surfaces; replenishing supplies; operating cleaning equipment as trained; and following all company safety and sanitation procedures.

This role also serves as a working lead by assigning daily tasks, communicating shift priorities, training team members on proper cleaning methods and equipment use, monitoring quality standards, and reporting issues to supervisors. The Night Lead helps ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to client expectations.

Perform routine and deep cleaning tasks, which may include:

  • Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal
  • Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, breakrooms, and common areas
  • Cleaning glass, doors, walls, and high-touch surfaces
  • Replenishing supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet tissue, etc.)
  • Operating floor equipment (e.g., auto scrubbers, buffers, extractors) if trained and assigned
  • Follow company cleaning protocols, safety procedures, and client site requirements, including any infection-control standards applicable to facilities
  • Serve as a working lead for an assigned team or area:
  • Assign or adjust daily cleaning tasks among team members as directed by management.
  • Communicate priorities, changes, and special requests to cleaners on the shift.
  • Demonstrate proper cleaning techniques and safe use of chemicals and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
  • 1–2 years of commercial or industrial cleaning/janitorial experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in a lead or informal leadership role is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to read and follow instructions, schedules, and safety information in English
  • Basic understanding of cleaning techniques, chemicals, and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Ability to organize work, prioritize tasks, and support a team to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to interact professionally with coworkers, supervisors, and clients.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during a shift.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and climb short ladders or step stools as needed.
  • Ability to lift and move objects typically up to (25–40) pounds, occasionally heavier with assistance.
  • Ability to use hands and arms to operate cleaning equipment and tools.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions (indoors, sometimes outdoors, around cleaning chemicals, varying temperatures) with appropriate PPE provided.
