Role and Accountability Overview
The Human Resources Director is accountable for strategically aligning workforce capabilities with business goals, overseeing talent acquisition and development, and ensuring compliance with labor laws while fostering a productive and inclusive company culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and manage recruiting, hiring, and onboarding processes for our multi-site operations. Identify, evaluate, and solve critical hiring challenges.
- Provide interviewing, hiring and disciplinary support for field managers.
- Get budget approval for employee engagement activities and reward recognition programs that contribute to a positive employee experience.
- Analyze compensation and benefits programs and provide recommendations to support employee retention, engagement, and market competitiveness.
- Develop and execute short- and long-term hiring strategies that align with company growth projections.
- Maintain physical and digital employee files, including personnel documents, benefits information, and attendance records.
- Own HR KPI scorecard (Turnover, employee satisfaction, etc.) and drive data-informed corrective action.
- Design, implement, and continuously optimize scalable operational processes, workflows, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, including minimum wage requirements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook updates to ensure legal compliance and operational consistency.
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, and Finance to support labor budgeting, workforce planning, and payroll coordination.
- Oversee workers' compensation claims.
- Evaluate employee performance and make compensation recommendations accordingly.
- Take appropriate disciplinary action when employees violate company policies and address employee grievances in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive human resources experience.
- Experience with benefits administration, applicant tracking systems (ATS), employee relations, onboarding, new hire orientation, and performance management.
- Knowledge of federal and state employment, labor laws, rules and regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong executive communication skills with the ability to present data and insights to company leadership.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills and SHRM certification (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) are a plus.

Physical: Ability to sit, stand, walk, and travel to client locations if necessary. Ability to use standard office equipment.

Environmental: Hybrid work environment including office, remote work, and visiting customer sites if necessary. May require travel and occasional early morning, evening, or weekend availability.
