We are seeking a dependable and skilled Janitorial Projects Technician to support specialty cleaning and floor care projects across customer locations.
This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys active work, takes pride in detailed cleaning, and is comfortable using floor care equipment. The Janitorial Projects Technician will perform project-based cleaning tasks including floor care, carpet cleaning, stripping, waxing, buffing, polishing, and other specialty custodial work.
This role is a great fit for someone with janitorial or floor care experience who wants to grow their skills beyond routine cleaning.
Responsibilities
- Perform specialty cleaning and floor care projects at assigned locations
- Clean and maintain various flooring surfaces, including carpet, tile, vinyl, concrete, hardwood, and other floor types
- Operate floor care equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, carpet extractors, vacuums, and related equipment
- Perform floor restoration work, including stripping, waxing, buffing, polishing, and deep cleaning
- Use proper cleaning methods, chemicals, and equipment to remove dirt, stains, and buildup from flooring and surfaces
- Inspect floors and work areas for damage, hazards, or areas needing additional attention
- Follow safety procedures when using cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment
- Work with other janitorial and maintenance team members to complete projects efficiently
- Report supply needs, equipment issues, safety concerns, or facility concerns to management
- Support other custodial or project cleaning duties as assigned
Requirements
- Previous janitorial, custodial, or floor care experience required
- Experience with floor scrubbers, buffers, carpet extractors, or floor restoration work preferred
- Familiarity with different floor types, cleaning techniques, and cleaning equipment
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
- Reliable attendance and dependable work ethic
- Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals and follow safety procedures
- Ability to lift and carry cleaning supplies and equipment
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, push, and pull throughout the shift
- Comfortable performing physically active work for extended periods
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed
- Comfortable working in different facility environments and conditions
