Janco Commercial Cleaning is hiring a Trash Patrol / Groundskeeper to keep the exterior grounds, parking structure, and vehicle staging areas of the rental car facility clean, safe, and well-maintained. This is an outdoor, hands-on role that keeps one of Anchorage's busiest travel hubs looking sharp for thousands of travelers every week — rain, shine, or snow.

What You'll Do

• Patrol parking lots, drive lanes, vehicle staging areas, and walkways on a set route throughout each shift, picking up litter, debris, and trash
• Empty and reline exterior trash and cigarette receptacles on a regular schedule
• Sweep, blow, or pick up debris around curbs, landscaping beds, and building perimeters
• Monitor grounds for hazards (spills, ice buildup, debris in drive lanes) and report or address them promptly
• Assist with seasonal grounds tasks as needed — leaf/debris cleanup in fall, light snow/ice management support in winter
• Maintain trash collection equipment (carts, blowers, grabbers) in clean working order
• Communicate with site supervisor on supply needs, equipment issues, or recurring problem areas
• Follow all facility safety protocols, especially around active vehicle traffic in rental car staging and return lanes
• Represent Janco professionally when interacting with rental car staff, airport personnel, and the public

What We're Looking For

• Reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently outdoors
• Able to work in all Anchorage weather conditions — rain, wind, snow, cold
• Comfortable walking long distances and staying on your feet for a full shift
• Able to lift/carry up to 40 lbs (full trash bags, equipment) repeatedly through a shift
• Strong awareness around moving vehicles — this site has constant rental car and shuttle traffic
• Punctual and dependable — this role keeps a high-visibility facility guest-ready every day
• Prior groundskeeping, janitorial, or outdoor maintenance experience helpful but not required — we'll train the right person
• Must be able to pass a background check (airport-adjacent facility)
