We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Custodian to support evening floor care operations at a community and activity center near historic downtown Rochester.

This position is focused on maintaining clean, safe, and well-kept floors throughout a public-facing facility that serves community members, guests, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate is reliable, thorough, and comfortable operating floor care equipment as part of the daily cleaning routine.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine floor care throughout assigned areas of the facility
• Operate an automatic floor scrubber to clean and maintain hard surface floors
• Sweep, mop, and prepare floor areas for cleaning as needed
• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of entrances, hallways, activity areas, and shared spaces
• Follow cleaning procedures, safety guidelines, and equipment-use expectations
• Report equipment issues, supply needs, or facility concerns to management
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for staff, guests, and visitors

Requirements

• Previous janitorial, custodial, or floor care experience preferred
• Experience operating an automatic floor scrubber preferred, but not required
• Comfortable working in a public-facing community facility
• Reliable attendance and dependable work ethic
• Ability to work independently and stay on task
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, and pull throughout the shift

Pay: $15 - $16 per hour
