Essential Duties and Responsibilities

-Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain assigned floor areas.

-Strip, scrub, wax, seal, and refinish hard-surface floors as required.

-Burnish and buff floors using commercial floor-care equipment.

-Perform carpet cleaning, extraction, spot cleaning, and other carpet-care procedures.

-Operate floor machines, buffers, burnishers, auto-scrubbers, wet/dry vacuums, carpet extractors, and other assigned equipment.

-Select and properly use appropriate pads, brushes, chemicals, and equipment for each type of flooring.

-Follow manufacturer instructions and CBM procedures when using chemicals and equipment.

-Set up appropriate wet-floor signs, barriers, and other safety precautions before beginning work.

-Follow proper chemical dilution, labeling, storage, and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) procedures.

-Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

-Inspect floors and report damage, safety hazards, equipment problems, or maintenance concerns to the supervisor.

-Clean and properly store floor-care equipment after use.

-Maintain equipment, supplies, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.

-Complete assigned floor-care projects according to established schedules and CBM quality standards.

-Assist with general janitorial duties when necessary.

-Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Requirements

-Must be 18 years of age or older.

-Previous commercial floor-care or janitorial experience is preferred.

-Experience operating commercial floor-care equipment is strongly preferred.

-Knowledge of stripping, waxing, buffing, burnishing, scrubbing, and carpet-cleaning procedures is preferred.

-Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

-Must be dependable, punctual, and able to maintain regular attendance.

-Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.

-Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

-Must be able and willing to learn the proper use of floor-care equipment, chemicals, and cleaning procedures.

-Must follow all CBM safety procedures and wear required PPE.

-Must maintain professional and respectful conduct at client facilities.

-Must be able to successfully complete any background screening or other site-specific requirements when required by the client.

-Must be available to work on the assigned schedule, which may include evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays depending on client needs.

Physical Requirements

The employee must be able to:

-Stand and walk for extended periods.

-Bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull repeatedly.

-Safely push, pull, and maneuver commercial floor-care equipment.

-Lift and carry cleaning supplies, equipment, and materials.

-Lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally, with assistance when appropriate.

-Perform repetitive movements associated with floor-care operations.

-Work around wet floors, cleaning chemicals, equipment, and other conditions associated with commercial floor maintenance.
