VETERAN FRIENDLY POSITION

We are looking for a thorough Maintenance Technician with HVAC trouble shooting experience to maintain a federal educational and training facility where readiness is paramount. You will perform maintenance tasks of great variety such as plumbing, HVAC maintenance and installations, electrical wiring, generator testing, carpentry, landscaping and equipment repair.  A Maintenance Technician is a thorough professional with a practical mind and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines. The goal is to maintain the facility fit and ready to execute its training mission.

Essential Functions:

Function well with a General Maintenance team

  • Survey buildings and report mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards and sub-contractor agreement for services.
  • Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels etc.)
  • Assist in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary
  • Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
  • Capture asset serial numbers and models.
  • Inspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when needed
  • Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, doors, replace windows, washer/dryers etc.)
  • Undertake activities of pest control such as spraying insecticide
  • Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. inventory control) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry, landscaping etc.)
  • Assist in budget preparation and ensure it is followed

Technical Skills:

  • Proven experience as maintenance technician
  • Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
  • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
  • Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
  • Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology or relevant field will be a plus
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) is desired

Education/Experience: Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent is generally preferred. Experience and education may be substituted for one another.

Work Location: Pineville, LA

Compensation:

Federal Contractor Wage Determination -

  • $16.20 per hour – Hourly Rate
  • $4.41 per hour - Health and Wellness Hourly Pay
  • $20.61 per hour - Total Per Hour Pay
  • Over-time authorized to meet mission schedule. 

Schedule Work Hours:  Business services hours of 7:30am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday.   Overtime is authorized to ensure mission of facility is not compromised.  

Conditions of Employment: Must pass a drug test, driver’s license check, Federal Criminal history background check and E-Verify social security number check.

Travel Requirements:  This is a campus facility with remote sites requiring commuting.   The government has authorized the use of vehicles.  Overnight travel may be required for training and mission support.
