North Country Janitorial Inc. is a full service commercial cleaning company. These services include general cleaning, carpet cleaning, hard floor care, window cleaning, dust removal and rental mat service. We tailor our services to meet the individual needs of our clients. Our clients include medical offices, banks, industrial offices, shop areas, real estate offices, schools, veterinary clinics, counseling centers, and manufacturing plants just to name a few. We cover a territory from Albany NY up to the Canadian border.

Anticipated Entry Level Pay Range Is Between $15.00 and $16.00 per hour.

Position summary:

Keep buildings in clean and orderly condition. Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Duties may include notifying management of need for repairs.

Tasks:

o    Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them as per each individual account specification and supervisor’s instruction.

o    Gather and empty trash.

o    Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.

o    Service, clean, and supply restrooms.

o    Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.

o    Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.

Skills:

o    Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

o    Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

Attributes:

o    Trunk Strength - The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without 'giving out' or fatiguing.

Experience and Education:

High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) preferred but not required. Valid clean driver’s license may be required for some positions.

Must have a neat & clean appearance – company uniforms required. No shorts will be worn.
