A Utility Driver operates commercial vehicles on established routes to deliver or pick up materials, service locations, or support company operations. This position may include handling cleaning products, waste, or light cargo, depending on assigned tasks.


Key Responsibilities

  • Safely drive and operate company-owned vehicles—such as box trucks, or delivery vans—over assigned routes in Connecticut.
  • Load and unload inventory—cleaning supplies, or waste—onto the vehicle, ensuring proper handling and security.
  • Requires ability to follow instructions, multitask, operate common tools, and occasionally handle hazardous materials or equipment.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with clients on-site.
  • Ensure proper storage of materials, whether waste —and prepare shipments for terminals when applicable.
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance of vehicles and equipment, ensuring safe operations and cleanliness.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Clean driving record and adherence to all traffic and safety regulations.
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned district or region, and occasionally overnight or on weekends.
  • Strong communication skills, reliability, attention to detail, and customer-oriented mindset.
  • Previous route service driving or similar delivery experience is preferred.

Furthermore, this role will encompass the following responsibilities for cleaner replacement duties.

  •  Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
  •  Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
  •  Gather and empty trash.
  •  Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
  •  Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
  •  Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
  •  Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
  •  Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
