POSITION SUMMARY

The Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring assigned buildings are clean, safe, compliant, and operating at company standards. This position is responsible for leading and supporting janitorial staff, maintaining quality control, coordinating schedules, managing coverage, and serving as a key communication link between frontline employees, management, and clients.

The Supervisor is hands-on, solution-oriented, and accountable for service delivery across all assigned accounts. They utilize company systems such as OrangeQC, eHub, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and Excel to manage daily operations. Training will be provided as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Team Leadership & Communication

  • Lead, support, and guide janitorial teams with clear, respectful communication
  • Train all new hires and re-train existing staff as needed
  • Complete and submit all training and retraining documentation to HR
  • Ensure employees understand job duties, schedules, and expectations
  • Address employee questions or concerns and follow through to resolution
  • Notify management of staffing shortages, vacancies, or performance concerns

2. Quality Control & Building Oversight

  • Perform regular building inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and contract compliance
  • Use OrangeQC to document inspections, complaints, and service requests
  • Take immediate corrective action when deficiencies are identified
  • Develop and communicate resolution plans for complaints within 24 hours
  • Follow up to confirm issues have been resolved

3. Scheduling & Coverage

  • Review schedules daily to confirm all shifts are covered
  • Coordinate coverage with Operations Manager support for call-outs, vacations, and vacancies
  • Adjust schedules as needed and communicate changes promptly
  • Personally assist with coverage when necessary, including cleaning shifts
  • Work closely with Operations leadership to ensure continuity of service

4. Timekeeping & Attendance

  • Monitor employee clock-ins and clock-outs using eHub
  • Process time corrections accurately and ensure employee acknowledgment
  • Review absence requests and attendance patterns
  • Identify coverage gaps and take corrective action

5. Inventory, Equipment & Supplies

  • Ensure all janitorial closets are clean, organized, labeled, and compliant
  • Verify SDS sheets are current and accessible at every site
  • Monitor and request supplies and chemicals as needed
  • Communicate equipment and supply needs to Operations leadership
  • Ensure all equipment (scrubbers, iMops, vacuums,etc) are clean, safe, and operational

6. Reporting & Accountability

  • Email daily written shift reports summarizing inspections, complaints, incidents, staffing issues, and supply needs
  • Ensure all training, retraining, and disciplinary documentation is completed correctly
  • Confirm completion and reporting of all client special requests through OrangeQC
  • Recommend corrective action or written warnings when appropriate
  • Maintain professionalism, accountability, and company standards at all times

7. Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce all safety policies and proper PPE usage
  • Report safety hazards immediately to Operations leadership
  • Complete incident reports and injury documentation within 24 hours of any work-related accident
  • Support OSHA and company safety compliance initiatives

Work Schedule, Insurance & Benefits

Work Schedule:
Janco offers flexible shift options based on building needs and client schedules:

  • 1st Shift (Day Shift): Typically between 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

  • 2nd Shift (Evening Shift): Typically between 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM

  • 3rd Shift (Overnight Shift): Typically between 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM

Most janitorial positions are on 2nd or 3rd shift, Sunday through Thursday.
