Job Summary

Monday-Friday

3:00pm-12:30am

The Area Manager supervises management and hourly staff providing custodial services to clients. This role typically received broad based direction from their immediate supervisor and practices more autonomy in the completion of assigned responsibility.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Direct and oversee Custodial Management staff to ensure quality housekeeping of assigned facilities.
  • Performs audits and inspections utilizing Concept 4 electronic data collections.
  • Establishes areas of responsibility and follows up to ensure that assignments are completed in accordance with procedures and instructions.
  • Instruct new managers.
  • Reviews equipment requirements for the section and submits requisitions to the supervisor for approval.
  • Supervises the disposition and destruction of classified waste, assuring that all requirements for its disposal are met. May be required to participate in the sorting and accumulation of hazardous substance materials in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Formulates and maintains the department within the prescribed budget.
  • Assists management with the preparation of the annual department budget.
  • Authorizes employee time submittal, oversees overtime approval requests and assures compliance with punctuality and attendance standards.
  • Prepares and discusses performance approvals with subordinate personnel, as well as initiate recommendations for rate changes, reclassifications, transfers and terminations.
  • Interviews potential candidates to recommend hiring.
  • Assist supervisors in budget preparation and management of established guidelines and contracts.
  • Providing day-to-day support to the production areas to ensure that the equipment is maintained
  • Keeping work areas clean and organized
  • Engage in management and operation of designated work areas
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and established procedures
  • Maintain company standards and programs for safety and security
  • Treat all co-workers with fairness, dignity, and respect
  • Provide outstanding customer service
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

 Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job
  • Knowledge of various cleaning products and when to use them
  • Knowledge of safety guidelines when working with chemical cleaners
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Basic knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience in implementing operational processes
  • Good working knowledge of operational procedures and policies
  • Strong project management, administrative management, and organizational skills
  • Excellent leadership and decision-making skills
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience (5+ years)
  • Valid driver’s license with a positive abstract

 Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to traverse work site and transport equipment used for completing job functions
  • Ability to position self to reach areas both below waist level to the floor and above their head
  • Ability to effectively communicate with management and coworkers
  • Ability to detect, observe, and inspect work areas to identify potential opportunities and concerns.
  • Ability to transport up to 50lbs through work site as needed
  • Ability to handle exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and other potential irritants
  • Must meet minimum age requirements
