The Account Manager is responsible for the overall performance, client satisfaction, and financial success of a portfolio of commercial cleaning accounts. This role ensures that services are delivered with excellence while leading teams, maintaining strong client relationships, and driving operational efficiency.

The AM serves as the primary point of contact for clients and is accountable for people, performance, and profitability within their assigned portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

1. Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as the main liaison between BCJ and assigned clients
  • Conduct regular site visits and client check-ins
  • Ensure client satisfaction and proactively resolve issues
  • Identify opportunities for contract expansion and additional services

2. Operations & Service Delivery

  • Oversee daily/nightly operations across multiple accounts
  • Ensure compliance with contract scope, quality standards, and KPIs
  • Conduct inspections and implement corrective action plans
  • Conduct regular property walks with night teams
  • Maintain consistent service delivery across all locations

3. Team Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, hire, train, and develop frontline employees and supervisors
  • Lead with BCJ’s core values and reinforce company culture
  • Conduct performance reviews, performance documentation, and coaching sessions
  • Ensure proper staffing levels and coverage at all sites

4. Financial Management

  • Manage portfolio budgets to meet or exceed gross margin targets
  • Review labor, supplies, and expenses regularly
  • Control overtime and minimize waste
  • Support billing accuracy and assist with collections as needed

5. Quality & Safety

  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and OSHA standards
  • Promote a strong safety culture across all accounts
  • Ensure timely and accurate incident reporting
  • Partner with HR and Risk Management on workers’ comp and compliance

6. Administrative & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records in company systems (e.g., WinTeam)
  • Submit required reports on time (inspections, payroll, etc.)
  • Track KPIs and provide performance updates to leadership
  • Review and correct employee time clocks to ensure proper compensation for hours worked

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  •  3+ years of experience in operations, facilities management, or janitorial services
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  •  Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preferred:

  • Experience in commercial cleaning or facility services industry
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Experience with budgeting and P&L management
  • Experience with Outlook, Word, & Excel
  • Familiarity with systems like WinTeam or similar
