Custodial Supervisor | West Bloomfield

Monday - Friday | 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM

$18 - $20 per hour

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Custodial Supervisor to lead evening cleaning operations at a busy community and recreation facility in the West Bloomfield area near the Maple Road corridor.

This is a hands-on leadership role. The Custodial Supervisor will work alongside the cleaning team each shift while helping train employees, monitor quality, maintain cleaning standards, and support daily facility operations.

This position supports a large public-facing environment with fitness areas, gathering spaces, activity areas, offices, and high-traffic common areas. The ideal candidate is someone who leads by example, communicates professionally, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a small team of custodial employees
• Perform daily janitorial and custodial duties alongside the team
• Train employees on cleaning procedures, quality expectations, and safety practices
• Monitor work quality and help maintain consistent cleaning standards
• Assist with shift coordination, task assignments, and daily coverage needs
• Maintain cleanliness throughout entrances, common areas, activity spaces, offices, and shared areas
• Support a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests, staff, and visitors
• Communicate professionally with team members, management, and building contacts
• Support proper use of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment
• Report facility concerns, supply needs, or staffing issues to management

Requirements

• Previous custodial or janitorial experience required
• Previous supervisor, management, or team lead experience required
• Reliable attendance and strong communication skills
• Ability to lead employees while also performing hands-on cleaning duties
• Comfortable working in an active, public-facing community facility
• Ability to work independently, stay organized, and follow through on daily responsibilities
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move throughout the shift
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
• Professional and respectful communication with team members, staff, guests, and visitors
