Colorado Commercial Services, a Denver based medical cleaning company is seeking ambitious, self-motivated “A” player to fill an essential position in our organization as a Director of Human Resources. This position is responsible for providing guidance and support in all areas of HR, to include, but not limited to, daily management of HR activities, employee relations, talent acquisition, workforce planning, policy and procedure management and implementation, management of work-related issues including Workers’ Compensation, employee termination activities, and providing timely feedback to management.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Maintain personnel files and other Human Resources records; ensure files are maintained in accordance with legal requirements and company policies and procedures
  • Investigate and manage all Workers’ Compensation claims including submitting any work related injury documentation to Work Comp carrier; interface with employee, carrier, provider and upper management, track injuries and OSHA 300 logs and postings
  • Work in a collaborative manner with payroll to ensure all related pay data and changes are processed timely
  • Administer all HR policies, procedures, and programs per company standards and as outlined in the company handbook, review and recommend policy and procedure updates in compliance with federal and state employment regulations
  • Identifying and clarifying employee issues and implementing solutions, including coaching and counseling
  • Oversees and assists in coordinating all stages of the hiring process, including posting job openings, reviewing and screening applications, conducting interviews, and on boarding new employees while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws in the use of background screening, drug screening and other screening tools
  • Oversees company-wide training and safety programs/training in context of compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Mentor, coach and conduct training for supervisors and managers in the area of human resources compliance to improve HR skills and knowledge company-wide
  • Consult with supervisors and managers on all performance management issues including disciplinary actions to ensure compliance with legal and company standards
  • Oversees terminations and exercises care that reasons are well documented; submits supporting documentation on all Unemployment Claims and appeals; attend claim hearings, as required
  • Coordinate and/or conduct exit interviews and oversee updating of all associated separation documents/filed
  • Conduct conflict resolution investigations and investigate disciplinary matters, complaints, and other human resources-related issues, as needed
  • Administer and oversee employee benefit programs including overseeing enrollment/open enrollment process for health benefits, track usage and compliance of company time off offerings
  • Administer and oversee team member evaluations, pay raise guidelines and eligibility, and team member recognition
  • Maintain confidentiality for all HR related issues
  • Supervise HR administrative team members, lead and develop HR admins into well-versed and highly proficient HR staff
  • Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Must have effective interpersonal and customer service skills and be able to interact with all levels of employees and management
  • Must have a strong sense of discretion, be able to maintain confidentiality, and possess and maintain a high level of professionalism
  • Must be able to articulate, present and implement HR strategy
  • Must have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, organizational skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work in a fast paced, challenging environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Expertise in the areas of recruiting hourly talent, Workers’ Compensation, unemployment and benefits administration
  • Ability to be self-motivated, goal-orientated, and have strong work ethic to be successful with limited supervision
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective problem solving skills
  • Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, IE, and/or Chrome
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum 4 years progressive experience in Human Resources
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in direct supervision
  • Minimum 1 year successful experience in direct recruiting

Salary is $95,000-$105,000 negotiable depending on experience.
